People who lie on their resume, get hired, and do a good job aren't bad. In fact they're proof that degrees mean very little.

Obviously I'm not saying that people should lie about having a medical or law degree. But I hear stories of people who have been doing jobs for years and then it's found out they lied about having a degree but they've been doing the job for years and clearly didn't need one.

This usually ends with them being fired for dishonesty, which I understand. But the fact that this could happen just proves that we put way too much stock in degrees when most jobs will train you anyway.
