Rock music isn't dead but it'll never be the number 1 genre in the world ever again.

As an 18-year-old rock fan, it hurts me so much to admit this but it's just the truth. Most rock fans are in denial and the boomers always blame the Millenials and Gen Zers for not having good taste in music but the fact is, Hip Hop is king. I'm not even a Hip Hop fan but you just have to admit, it's the truth. The same influence that rock artists had on the youth of the '60s, '70s, '80s, and '90s is the influence that Hip Hop is having on kids today (fashion, language, etc). I don't think rock is dead though. There's a ton of kids who love rock and there are many different forms of rock being developed and promoted, but the days of the Stones and Zep and Nirvana and Metallica being some of the top sellers in the world are over.
