My father-in-law is a self made man. He worked hard and earned his million. He blames our generation for being lazy. We have tried to show him how many hours it took to earn things when he was our ages how many hours of work it takes now. He won't hear it. How can we help him see?

He rants and raves about workers abusing the system. When we point out how the wealthy find loopholes and cheat the system too and he says they are only being smart businessmen. It's so hypocritical it makes my heart hurt. He complains that people don't work as hard. When I say they don't pay people enough he says that we don't know how to save. I pointed out that people can't afford to buy houses or cars because our wages haven't gone up proportionately and he doubles down and gets even more angry.

It's so frustrating. His kids got an advantage because he helped them by lending them money to buy their houses and cars. Yet he blames poor people for being lazy.

I wish I could talk to him rationally.
