Why is it okay to hate on Christianity, but no other religions in America?
Just to be clear: I’m not offended in anyway shape or form or trying to start some bs religious debate.
I’m just genuinely curious. It seems like every-time I log on Reddit, it seems completely fine and well received to say even extreme things like “fuck Christian’s”.
Could you imagine if someone said that about Jewish, Muslim, etc.? I just don’t get why it became acceptable to completely shit on this ONE religion, but only one. Seems very contradictory to me.
EDIT: apparently I need to make this clear. I am NOT advocating ANY religion. I am personally not religious. People saying it’s a “loaded question” or that I have an “ulterior motive” are just wrong. Just with all the hate across the board going on in the media rn, it had me thinking about how hate in general on ANY group is bad.
Some people on this thread have provided extremely insightful answers that I appreciate and thank you for that.
I honestly wasn’t expecting this to gain so much traction so quickly, but I should’ve known bringing up the word “religion” will always result in opposing view points and people taking offenses to it. For that, I apologize.
