[Lowe Post] “Nikola Jokic is giving up more points when trying to defend layups than any player in the history of the player tracking era (since 2013)”

• Jokic is giving up 12.7 points per game on layups alone when he’s contesting the shot (ie he’s really bad at contesting and teams go at him often).

This was said by Kirk Goodsberry around the 39 minute mark in Fridays episode of the Lowe Post (time stamped link).

Look, Nikola Jokic is my favorite player to watch in the league right now. I love him. I’m happy he won MVPs. But I saw an opportunity with this piece (article) to really chime in on the big question: is this dude a good defender?
