Professor failed me over my final paper. Do I message the dean? - MAS International News

Professor failed me over my final paper. Do I message the dean?

I had a 92% in a 5000 level history class (i'm a junior) before the final paper grade. He graded it a ZERO and it brought my grade down to a 65%. I don't agree with half the comments he made on the paper, and I think I deserve at least some percentage because I did have most of what the vague rubric provided.

He graded the paper a few hours ago, I just noticed it about an hour ago, so I emailed him about it. Before I could get a response he finalized the grade! I couldn't even talk to him about it. I've never had this happen. I get if it's bad but at least give me like 20%??

I'm not interested in sharing my paper or the vague rubric. I just want to know if anyone has done this over a final grade. I emailed the professor defending my paper against his comment on my paper, but he hasn't responded yet (but he did finalize the grade before emailing me back).

Edit: 1. No I did not plagiarize anything, nor did my professor mention anything about plagiarism.

  1. My draft/outline received a 93% a month before.

  2. I emailed my advisor on what to do. Thanks everyone.

EDIT TWO: I did not use AI to write my paper. My professor commented on the final and did not mention the use of AI because I did not use AI. If I did, I would get expelled or something along those lines. If you weirdos still insist I used AI because "there's no other explanation" then idk what to say. I can't defend against delusional comments.
